A thought for the afternoon.
Huff Puff, blow that house down
Glitter likes living in London. It's a little expensive to rent though. And nearly impossible to buy. And we've heard kind of difficult to sell, right? Well, in case you've not heard, looks like the housing market is getting even shakier. Oh dear. There goes our 100% mortgage.
Well hey, if worse comes to worst we can always make like Parisian students and foment a squatter movement. And it could always be worse: we've got the pictures to prove it. Or at least Boris Mikhailov does.
The Sprovieri Progetti gallery is showing arresting, and sometimes disturbing, images of the homeless of post communist Eastern Europe. And if you need something to put your housing issues in perspective, this is it. Mikhailov's controversial compositions feature half-dressed subjects and surreal tableaus, and make for powerful viewing.
And if you need a little light relief after all that, have a peek at what our prospective mayors have in store for London's affordable housing.
