We're all going on a Spanish holiday

dunes.jpgAh, the first Monday morning after the start of British Summer Time: it's like having jetlag without any of the fun of actually going away. If we are going to feel this icky, we maintain, then we want to be feeling this icky with sunshine and tapas and sangria.

Sunshine is predictably unlikely, but any of these spots are good places to spend your drowsy Monday evening in London pretending you're on a Spanish holiday:

Macondo in Hoxton Square does the best mojitos and has very droll furniture. The food all sits out on uncovered shelves, which seems like it might violate health and safety regulations, but one should really leave one's British hang-ups about such things at the door.

Moro on Exmouth Market is Spanish and fishy and wonderful. Anchovy-tastic, even.

Your local fish and chip shop: no one speaks Spanish? Everything is deep fried? Darlings, we've died and gone to the Costa del Sol.
