Oxjam: Back Already?
The UK's biggest music festival is back already. Yes, we were shocked too. Oxjam is usually in October, but for some strange reason they've moved it to April. This means that you've only got a month to get some serious planning sorted so you can see all the good stuff.
Why it's been moved is beyond us. It means they've got to compete with the Camden Crawl at the same time. Not the cleverest PR stunt we've seen.
But instead of trying to understand that, let's have a look at what they've got coming up.
- The Roadhouse are kicking things off on March 9th. You can see Sugarmonkey there.
- The Rhythm Factory seem to be getting into the spirit of things. Stealing Green and The Dead Pixels will be there on the 10th April.
- Power's Acoustic Room is going to show us some stuff from an all female showcase. We approve.
- The Rich Mix has got a few gigs coming up. The next Oxjam one isn't until the end of May.
This appears to be it. We know there's more out there, but come on! What happened, Oxfam? We love the event. We've even been involved in it before. But by moving it so close to last years, we can't help but think that they've just cut the success of it by half.
We'd love to keep you updated about this, but we don't think there will be much more to tell. Shame, London usually has some pretty great events for Oxjam. Maybe next year.
